Need the perfect alibi? Forgot the name of that restaurant you had dinner at last week? Google Maps and its new “Your Timeline” feature will remember everywhere you have been — if you let it. The feature lets users “visualize your real-world routines, easily see the trips you’ve taken and get a glimpse of the places where you spend your time,” the search giant said in a blog post. Google Photos users will also get the bonus of seeing the pictures they took when resurfacing a certain day on their timeline.
- There’s a setting in your Google account, which — when turned on — creates a record of everywhere you go and when you went there.

- It’s intended to make your Google Maps experience more useful, like providing a faster commute to work or home.
