The topo and relief map pages describe topographical features, including the highest mountain or elevation and major rivers and lakes. Located in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic region of the United States and the Great Lakes Region, Pennsylvania occupies a total area of 46,055 square miles.

As the popularity of the automobile grew during the middle decades of the twentieth century, a new form of map became increasingly available. The I-278 feeder highway connects Linden with I-95 and the Goethals Bridge into Staten Island, New York. I-76 and I-80 cross the state from east to west, I-79 traverses western Pennsylvania from north to south, and I-81 runs southwest from northeastern Pennsylvania.
