Nissan recently announced that they will have a team racing in the Formula E racing series for the 2018-2019 season. They will be joining BMW, Jaguar, and Audi among the factory-backed teams. This FIA-sanctioned series began in 2014 and has attracted top drivers such as Nelson Piquet Jr., Lucas di Grassi, and Scott Speed. The 2018-2019 series will mark the first season that drivers will have the opportunity to drive the full course distance on a single battery charge. Porsche and Mercedes-Benz will enter the series in the 2019-2020 season.
