Maps to Help Open Space Committee Determine Which Lands Would Meet Preservation Goals – Livermore Independent

Currently, there is over $12 million available to buy land in the Livermore area and just over $650,000 could be spent in the Pleasanton area. Some felt that a map showing habitats, biological resources along with connections linking areas would be useful in establishing the list. Using overlays indicating habitat, connectivity, and other factors, committee members could determine how to rank the land using a weighted system that the committee would determine. Using the maps and weighting system, committee members would be aided in deciding between purchasing a small or large area that contains similar resources.
