After offering the Giulia, a luxury sedan, Alfa Romeo increasing the number of cars it imported to the United States from 516 to 12,031. It was a big increase for the company, but it still isn’t competing well with other Models in a similar class. Fiat Chrysler, the company behind the Alfa Romeo brand will have to work hard to compete in the US market, and the Giulia is a step in the right direction.
- Bloomberg states Alfa Romeo “outperformed all others in U.S. sales last year,” posting astronomical year-over-year gains.
- In 2016, Alfa Romeo only shipped 516 cars inside the United States — which was actually a modest decrease from 2015. However, adding the Giulia sedan to the lineup yielded 12,031 deliveries in 2017.
- Despite some questionable reliability issues, the Giulia has been exceptionally well received by automotive enthusiasts. FCA definitely delivered on the brand’s historic charms (and faults).
