BMW Issues Stop-Sale Order and Recall of All i3 EVs in U.S.

A major car company has issued a large recall and stop sale, on their electric vehicle, of more then 30,000 vehicles sold in the United States. The recall is due to the possible injury that could happen to 5% of its possible drivers. Inconsistencies of initial compliance testing and further testing showed different results, thus causing the recall until more testing can be done.

Key Takeaways:

  • The i3 failed a NHTSA rigid-barrier crash test.
